about

All works composed with the new pulsar generator (nuPG) program designed
by Marcin Pietruszewski in SuperCollider 3 programming language [1]. Tracks 2, 3, 5 and 10 composed at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (2018). Tracks 11-14 employ a sieve algorithm [2], [3] for pulsar train masking. Tracks 1 and 4 employ micro-modulation of a plusaret envelope – an extension to overlapped pulsaret-width modulation technique (OPulWM) [4]. Track 15 derived from data sonification model of the first pulsar – a highly
magnetised rotating neutron star (PSR B1919+21) – as discovered by
Jocelyn Bell Burnell [5].
